Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays of the year. I absolutely love spending time with my family and Thanksgiving is one of those special days. It is always a day that is filled with food, laughter, and positive energy. I believe that one of the main reasons that is the case is because of the name of the holiday, THANKSgiving. Being thankful and expressing gratitude are two amazing ways to boost your mood. Over the next couple of weeks, I’m going to talk more about gratitude, and today I am going to share three of my favorite ways to express gratitude.
1. Handwritten Letter
In today’s technologically focused world, a handwritten note goes a long way. The letter can range from a simple thank you or be a lot longer and tell of a specific moment you are thankful about. Honestly, it feels great to sit down and write these letters and it is so special to see your loved one’s face light up as they read it.
2. Gratitude Circle
Something that we’ve done at our family’s Thanksgiving celebration is to go around and share what people are thankful for. It’s such an amazing activity because of all of the love that is in the air. People also share special and heart-warming stories. It’s a great way to have a meaningful and positive conversation with a delicious meal.
3. Calling Randomly
Sometimes we have loved ones that we, unfortunately, cannot be with during the holiday season. One thing I love to do is just give someone a call. It can be a spontaneous way to connect with someone that I haven’t spoken to in a long time. It’s so fun to learn about everything that is going on in their life and to share what’s happening in mine. Sometimes they are busy when I call, but then they’ll call back or we find a time to speak. It’s a really nice way to stay connected with people that we don’t see all that frequently.
Being thankful, appreciative, and grateful is so important in all of our lives. It is all too easy to get caught up in the daily routine and stressed out. Taking the time to thank those that we love and help us in so many ways is so important to do. That is one of the many reasons that I really enjoy Thanksgiving!
Feel free to share your Thanksgiving stories with me on social media and thank YOU for reading this!
