How to Stay Healthy During the Seasonal Change

As I posted about yesterday on social media, it’s already time that the seasons are changing. I love the fall and am very excited as it is probably my favorite season! It’s a really exciting and fun time with nice weather, so you can do outdoor activities, and nature looks beautiful all fall. Unfortunately, one of the drawbacks of this time of year is the inconsistent weather. That leads to a lot of people getting colds. For this week’s blog article, I’m going to share a couple of tips to stay healthy as the season changes. 

Bring an Extra Layer

The weather changes a lot throughout the day and can be very unpredictable. Make sure to keep an extra layer on you at all times. Maybe it’s easiest to leave it in your bag, or car, or by your desk. Bringing an extra layer will make sure that you’re ready for anything. 

Drink Tea

Tea is a really great natural remedy. Different flavors of tea have different benefits and tastes. For example, Green Tea has anti-inflammatory elements that helps with inflammation and sore throats; lemon-based and hibiscus teas are very high in vitamin C. You can drink your tea early in the morning to feel better all day long!

Sleep

Last week’s blog article was all about the importance of sleep. Sleeping at least eight hours a day is the best way to make sure that your body is recovering and resting. When we don’t sleep enough our bodies break down and are much more likely to get sick. 

Stay Active

Working out and exercising have incredible health benefits. It can be hard to motivate yourself to exercise when you aren’t feeling well, but breaking a sweat has been proven to decrease the chance of getting a cold.
