Famous author William S. Burroughs once said, “When you stop growing you start dying.” That’s a quote that really resonated with me. I am a firm believer in continually pushing yourself and expanding your comfort zone. I’ve found that nutrition, movement, and spirituality are the three most important pillars to a happy and healthy life. In this weeks blog article I am going to share suggestions for strategies of growth in all three areas.
Diets are hard to stick to. Research shows that most diets fail within the first two weeks. I suggest starting with something small, and once that becomes a habit, then moving on to building a new healthy habit. This summer I’d consider start by drinking more water, the typical adult is supposed to drink eight glasses of water a day! Carrying a reusable water bottle with you will help you reach that goal.
Trying various types, styles, and forms of exercise can not only be fun but also is great for you! A couple of weeks ago I wrote a blog article, Five Different Types of Excercise You Need to Try. Check it out to learn about CrossFit, Spin, High-Intensity Interval Training, Yoga, and Weight-training.
I’ve really found meditation to be one of the best tools for my spiritual growth. I try to meditate for at least thirty minutes per day. It’s amazing how it can really reset my mind and focus for the rest of the day.
What do you do to push yourself? What are you going to try from this article?
